Text Box: Sylvania Lodge is located at a high elevation, just below the peaks of some of the highest mountains in Pennsylvania. It is typically 10-15 degrees cooler than Baltimore/Washington or Philadelphia so plan accordingly.  
     
Directions: 
From Baltimore/Washington:  Take MD I 70 West to Pennsylvania.  I 70 will run into Breezewood PA (a good place for a pit stop).  Stay in the right hand lanes in Breezewood and follow signs and bear right to the PA Turnpike, I 76.  After toll plaza bear west towards Pittsburgh. Continue on PA  Turnpike for 2 exits to Somerset (exit #110). After toll booth continue to 2nd light and make a right on N Center Street (Eat n” Park on diagonal corner is a good stop for breakfast or lunch).  Proceed up hill and look for signs for Route 31.  Turn right on route 31 West and proceed through town of Somerset and continue approx 9 miles and up Laurel Mountain to Sylvania Lodge, which is located after a curve in the road and before the Laurel Mountain Inn on the left. 

From Philadephia/Harrisburg: Take the PA Turnpike (I 76) west and follow directions above from the Somerset exit.

From Pittsburgh/Ohio: Take the PA Turnpike (I 76) west to the Donegal Exit (#91). Follow route 31 East approx 10 miles. You will pass over Laurel Mountain and descend past Hidden Valley Resort and Kooser Park.  Look for the Laurel Mountain Inn on your right, and the entrance for Sylvania Lodge is after thst.  

Parking: There is a gravel parking area which allows you to pull in and back up close to the front door to unload. Although we try to keep the parking area clear, due to the frequent and plentiful snow, a shovel and broom are on the front porch of the lodge if necessary.
